There is fresh arms buildup between Aladja, Ogbe-Ijoh and Isaba communities in Delta state over purported plans by Delta state Government to stop the twenty five thousand naira Security Surveillance stipends to youths in the three communities.

Sources said that crisis is looming again between Aladja community in Udu local government area and Ogbe-Ijoh/Isaba Communities in Warri South-West Local Government Area over purported removal of some names from the list of beneficiaries of the scheme.

This is coming as Community sources claimed that the Delta State Government is apparently planning to stop the monthly payment of the Security Surveillance stipends ostensibly because of the Aladja and Isaba Communities recently signed peace pact.

The source claimed that some youths who were beneficiaries of the security surveillance have been schemed out due to their political affiliations.

Our source hinted that the Delta State Government in the wake of the crisis between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities had allegedly put a palliative measure in place to assuage the anger of their youths.

One of such measure was the payment of a stipend of N25,000.00 (Twenty-five thousand) naira only to fifty (50) persons.

It was gathered that the beneficiaries of the security surveillance job were picked irrespective of their political parties differences but a group of leaders from both communities were said to have sabotage the plans during the February and March 2019 presidential and governorship election in the state when they removed some beneficiaries and replaced same with their party’s loyalist.

All efforts by the traditional ruler of Udu Kingdom, HRM. E.B.O Delekpe Esq. to resolve the issue were rebuffed by some unnamed persons in Aladja, our source further disclosed.

President General of Aladja Community Council, Elder Otto Ogbiruveta who confirmed the development, said that he and a few member of his executive had gone to Ogbe-Ijoh and declared the cessation of hostilities.
