It was gathered that shortly after the 7th Assembly was declared open for legislative business, Hon. Tim Owhefere, member representing Isoko North Constituency moved a motion for the nomination for the Speakership position and was seconded by Hon. Festus Okoh, member representing  Ika South Constituency.

Oborevwori who was Speaker in the 6th Assemble was subsequently returned through a voice vote against all odds, particularly the recent allegation of over financial misappropriation levelled against him by a section of the House.

He was a first timer in 2017 when he replaced the then embattled former Speaker, Monday Igbuya who was sacked for alleged financial recklessness during his tenure.
