…Calls on INEC to quarantine votes cast

Alex Eyengho, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded Warri Federal Constituency election has called on INEC to quarantine what he called “all toxic votes” from three Warri local government areas of the state.

Eyengho who spoke at a press conference at the secretariat of NUJ Warri Correspondents Chapel, called for outright cancellation of the elections in the entire Warri South West LGA, Warri North LGA and part of Warri South, saying the votes from the area from where Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Chief Thomas Ereyitomi of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) as ‘winner’ of last Saturday’s election were “all toxic votes”.

He said that the declaration of Ereyitomi was temporary saying, “I can only quickly assure you that my stolen mandate which you all freely gave to me shall sooner than latter be retrieved by me through all peaceful and legal means permitted by the laws of our land. You can count on me on this”.

He said, “the said rogued and crooked election was laced with all manner of living examples of unprecedented electoral malpractices, ballot box stuffing, vote buying, life-threatening electoral violence, record-breaking irregularities, deliberate circumvention of the Card Readers in connivance with security agents, INEC staff and ad-hoc staff, etc across the three Warri Local Government Areas (Warri South, Warri North and Warri South West) that make up the Warri Federal Constituency.

“For the above demonic reasons and more, I have briefed my team of seasoned lawyers who have since swung into action. I am demanding for immediate deleting of all toxic votes fraudulently awarded to the PDP candidate, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi by the manifestly compromised INEC and my immediate declaration as winner of the said election based on the physical votes cast by the electorate across the Warri Federal Constituency.

“All toxic votes, particularly in the riverine communities of Warri South West, Warri North and Warri South LGAs must be quarantined! In the alternative, I am demanding for outright cancellation of the elections in the entire Warri South West LGA, Warri North LGA and part of Warri South LGA.

“To this end, I plead with the electorate and my teeming supporters to remain calm, law abiding and keep hope alive knowing that together, we shall reclaim the stolen mandate they freely gave to me through physical votes. Enough of toxic votes in the Warri Federal Constituency, which has become a recurring decimal! “O to ge!” Enough is enough!”.
