Ogor, Ereyitomi, Marierie, Mutu Others Win PDP Rep Tickets In Delta

House of Representatives Minority Leader, Mr Leo Ogor, was among Peoples Democratic Party house of representatives contestants who won the party tickets on Wednesday primary elections held across the state.

The party’s returning Officer, Mr Chika Ossai who announced the results of the primary held at Oleh, said Ogor polled 206 votes to beat his closest rival, Mr Ayodele Othihiwa, who got 80 votes while another aspirant, Dr Oghenekaro Okumo, scored 4 votes to come third.

Meanwhile, member representing Warri federal Constituency, Hon Daniel Reyenieju put up a poor showing as he was defeated by his leading challenger, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi who polled 118 to end his era in the lower chambers.

In the hotly contested primary, Thomas Ereyitomi scored 118 votes to beat his closest rival, Daniel Itsekirimi Mayuku who got 110 votes to beat incumbent Delta State commissioner for oil and gas, Mofe Pirah who scored 87 to place third and Daniel Reyenieju coming behind with 78 votes.

Also, the incumbent member representing Ughelli North/South and Udu Federal Constituency, Hon. Solomon Awhinawhi fails to pick the PDP ticket as he was defeated by incumbent member representing Ughelli Constituency 1 at the Delta State House of Assembly, Mr Samuel Marierie.

Marierie scored 168 votes to defeat Awhinawhi who was contesting to return for the third time.

In the same vien, incumbent member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency, Chief Loveth Idisi also lost the contest to Chief Ben Igbakpa, a former commissioner for transport in the state.

Meanwhile, incumbent member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, Hon Julius Pondi emerged winner with 77 votes to beat his only rival Hon. Franc Enekorogha who polled 65 votes.

Also, incumbent member representing Patani Federal Constituency, Nicholas Mutu clinches the PDP House of Representatives ticket flooring his main rival, Basil Ganagana, a former deputy speaker of the state Assembly.

Meanwhile, our correspondents report that Hon Victor Nwokolo won in Ika Federal Constituency, Hon Ndudi Elumelu defected the incumbent in Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, incumbent, Hon Nicholas Ossai won in Ndokwa/ Ukwuani Federal Constituency while Hon Efe Afe also won Okpe/Uvwie and Sapele Federal Constituency.
