S’South Governor Penciled As Running Mate To Northern Presidential Aspirant

A South South Governor (Name withheld) has been penciled down as running mate to a popular northern presidential aspirant.
The Governor, though pursuing his second term ambition and seriously facing threats from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) led government is quietly working vigorously for the northern aspirant who has purportedly promised him a Vice President position from the South South geopolitical zone.
Sources told BigPen Online that the Governor has the political clout to garner the South-South and South-East votes for the presidential aspirant since it is believed that he has ears of his colleagues in the same party.
Dependable source revealed that the Governor recently had a late night meeting with a top political godfather in the geopolitical zone over the development and also want him to work for the northern presidential aspirant.
“If you notice, activities associated with the Northern presidential aspirant has pick up in high stead in the South South zone, because a governor from the zone is seriously reaching out and working for his aspirations.
“The Governor is “doing well” politically in his state and has influence on some other South South and South East Governors so two Northern presidential aspirants who want to pick their running mate from the south have penciled down the Governor”.
The Governor would be coming from the opposition PDP which have legion of presidential aspirants already engaged in a titanic battle for the party ticket.
The source told BigPen Online that the Governor has the credentials for the number two position, but there are fears that he might not be able to deliver his state in the governorship and presidential election.
Sources said that two prominent presidential aspirants who have visited the South south zone and want a vice president from the zone keep having the name of the Governor reportedly forwarded to them because of the difficulty in shopping for a reputable character that can influence and mobilise votes come 2019.
