Ofehe made this assertions while declaring his intention to vie for the office of the governor in the 2019 general election at the Ekwerigbe primary schpool playground in Ozoro, headquarters of Isoko North Council Area.

The activist turned politician said that his top priority when elected would be to give nutritional access to the pregnant woman and strengthen the institutions that would grow the socioeconomic development of the state.

According to him, he would not promise Deltans construction of roads, schools and hospitals because according to him they are the minimal basic amenities any government world over can offer her people.

Ofehe who pull about seven Dutch foreign investors who are willing to invest their resources into his economic agenda, lamented the under development of institutions in the state, saying he weep for the infrastructural decay in the state despite the place of Delta state in nation’s oil wealth.

His words: “Every day when I woke up in the city called Rotterdam, I weep for my state, Delta. We are in a state that have four under functioning sea port. We are in a state with two major truck terminal that export crude oil out of this country. We are in a state that is the second largest producer of crude oil in the country and we are in a state with the largest gas reservoir that have made Nigeria the largest exporter of crude oil allover the world but what we see everywhere is poverty.

“What we see is institutional failure. What we see is lack of education. What we see is failure in our health care system and all of that can be summarized to be product of bad leadership and corruption.

“Delta state is the gate way to South West and South East, so whether by air, by sea or by land you cannot access this region without passing through our state.

Continuing, he said, “We are not suppose to be where we are today because I have seen how things work over there. European development is not a rocket science, it is borne out of patriotism, dedication and respect for equal rights and that’s why I have offered myself to serve you and to serve with a simple slogan,”FixDelta” because our state is broken and we need to fix it. And we need to fix it not only by my power but we need to fix it together.

“We need to bring in international collaboration and we need to bring in national unity and we need to bring our people together. Isoko nation, as my mentor has said has been marginalise for too long but we want to stand up and say we have what it takes to produce the next governor of this state.

“I have come with some of my friends who are into business, they are investors. They represents a consortium that we are trying to build internationally; they represent every segment of our economy.

“As a Governor, my priority will start from the pregnant woman, to give nutritional access to the pregnant woman and given the pregnant woman access to good medical care so that we can give birth to healthy children.

“And we will revamp our marine sector. In this state we can have a ship building yards. In this state we can have dry docks. In this state we can have state-of-the-art vessels that are owned by individuals.

“Private consortium, small, medium and large scale entrepreneurs will be empowered and my government will be the first to look into civil society organizations, we need to empowered them because without them no economy can strive.

Speaking further, Ofehe said, “Today I would not stand here to tell you I will give you hospital, I would not stand here to tell you I will give you roads, will give you hospitals, I would not stand here to tell you I will build schools because these are suppose to be the very minimal things any government can provide but what I want to assure you is that we will strengthen our institutions.

“We would ensure we create a level playing field for everyone of you to be part of this government. I will not boss you, I will not jump on top of you but I will be with you and I want you today to stand up wherever you go and say it confidently that in Comrade Sunny Ofehe, you have a new governor in 2019 that would take Delta state to global economic height and above all we all cannot achieve this without the power of the Almighty God and that’s why I keep saying this mission is divine”, Ofehe concluded.

Speaking earlier, Isoko Federal Constituency APC House of Representative aspirant, Hon Benjamin Essien Okiemute reaffirmed that Ofehe has what it takes to win and reposition Delta state for the better.

“This (Ofehe) is the man. This is the person that can change the fortune of Delta state and put food on your table. This is the only man who that can assure us good road, good medical care and good life. Look at the category of men that are rallying around him. He mean well for our state and we must stand by him for the true change that we need”, Essien- Okiemute said.

In the same vein, Delta state Commissioner in the Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC), Mr. Ogaga Ifowodo who canvassed support for the Not Too Young To Rule Bill recently signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari, said that Ofehe has been well prepared to run and steer the mantle of leadership of the state.

“I can assure that if Ofehe start to put what he had garnered in The Netherlands for past 23 years to use as governor, Delta state and Niger Delta region will be a beehive of tourist site.

“I can assure you that The Netherlands has the technology, the economic knowhow and management skills that can reposition Delta state and the entire Niger Delta region. The Netherlands, where Ofehe has stayed for many years has all it takes to transform Delta state in the next three years.

“You can see the category of technical partners that are ready to assist Ofehe to solve the peculiar problems of the Delta state and Isoko people who have suffered untold marginalization and depravation. Ofehe has everything it takes to rescue and free Delta state.

“As from today, we must show ourselves as equal stakeholders in the governance of Nigeria. For too long, we have been marginalise in Isoko land. For too long, we have been marginalise in Delta state. Delta is an oil producing state but we have nothing to show for it. Comrade Sunny Ofehe is ready to change that but he cannot do it alone so we must join him, we must stand by him, we must campaign with him and support him morally and financially to win this race.

“Lets send the massage around that we must fix Delta state now and it must be through the All Progressive Congress…I want you to commit yourselves to this project of rescuing Delta state and we cannot do it without international support and your committed. We have here as evidence that Sunny Ofehe is ready, willing and able to do the job”, Ifowodo affirmed.

Dutch national, Pepijn van den Hoogenband, CEO TRINCO Development who led other multinational companies Chief Executive Officers including Andre Sprengelmeijer, CEO Sprengelmeijer Trucks Export Company, Christiaan Dekker, CEO Dekker Heavy Equipment & Dredging to the event said that they have keyed into the Ofehe’s governorship project because they believe he has the capacity to turn Delta state around within his first four years in office.

Pepijn who likened Delta state to Holland, said that if Ofehe is given the chance to be elected as governor come 2019, Deltans would be shock of the huge infrastructure and institutional development that would spring up in the state, stressing that Ofehe’s blueprint was achievable if the people actually needed development and a departure from the old order.

“As a Dutch man, we don’t support anybody everywhere because we are a very critical country and we take critical look on your person and we do background check before we stand by you, so if we are here with Sunny Ofehe it show we trust his integrity and we trust he has the capacity to receive what we have to offer the people of Delta state.

“We have a lot to offer and we have find out that Sunny Ofehe has a very strong background to lead you and we will support him as long as you want us to support you. You have shown us your dance steps today and it is our dance, we will dance with you and I think we have gotten a good start for this race”, Pepijn enthused.
