Frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of All Progressive Congress, APC in Delta State, Comrade Sunny Ofehe has said that infrastructural development in Europe is not a rocket science but borne out of patriotism of those who vie for leadership positions.

Ofehe, stated this shortly after meeting with former President of Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor at Word of Life Bible Church (International Gospel Centre), in Warri where he worshipped last Sunday.

According to the aspirant, the gospel of patriotism must be preached at all times, because according to him, the problem of infrastructure deficit in the country is due to lack of patriotism.

According to Ofehe, “Development is not a rocket science in Europe, it is borne out of passion and patriotism. And we can replicate that in our state if those vying for leadership positions are patriotic. If the governors that led this state where patriotic enough we would have been better of”.

He said that it is a shame that Delta state with its huge oil resources has remained under develop with no viable economic project to boost her Internal Generated Revenue profile.

Ofehe, who expressed displeasure that leaders see development of local communities as favour being done the electorates said; “It is shame that we live in a state that God has bless yet there is nothing to write home about”.

The Governorship aspirant said he was at Word of Life Bible Church to fellowship with a longstanding mentor and friend whom he holds in high regards and to intimate him of his governorship ambition.

“On Sunday, I was at his (Word of Life Bible) church to worship with him after declaring my Governorship ambition to him. He humbly invited me to the pulpit, knelt me down and prayed for me in the presence of his congregation. He said “Sunny, you have what it takes to govern Delta State; go and conquer for God will use you to change the face of Delta State”, Ofehe said.

Meanwhile, the Niger Delta environmental rights activist who also paid a consultation visit to APC chieftain, Hon Benjamin Ogbalor however said he’s in the race for genuine infrastructural and human capital development of the state.

“I am coming with a genuine heart. If you give me the APC ticket, I will bring in the value-added international perspective to governance dimension that has elude us for years. Let the decision on who becomes the flag bearer be based on quality, he advised.

“I am keying my policy in line with Millennium Development Goal, MDG. We can build the non-existing middle class in the state and ease out poverty. I want to use a model that would be the envy of other States”.
