Boosting Maritime Business Top Chant Of Forthcoming Warri Economic Summit
The need to re-energize the socio-economic life of Warri, the commercial nerve center of Delta state with the view to identifying growth and profit centres like the moribund Maritime business is the key objective of hosting the Warri Economic Summit 2018.
Chairman of Warri South Council Area of Delta State, Hon. Michael Tidi stated this while addressing newsmen on Thursday, on the summit tagged; “Warri Rising” in partnership with the other organizations.
He said the summit is also aimed at drawing national and International attention to the economic and security challenges facing the oil city.
According to him, the non-dredging of the Warri river to allow bigger vessel free passage to the Warri Port would be dweller on by resource persons who would proffer solution to the problems.
In a statement signed by E.O.Jakpa, Chairman, steering Committee on behalf of the organisers revealed that expert and professionals in various of business have been penciled to deliver papers on key areas of business to be held from 17-18 May at Cedar Event Centre, along Airport road, Warri.
Among key speakers at the event include Chief Daniel Okumagba, a seasoned banker and the former Director-General of NIMASA, Barr. Omatseye a seasoned Maritime business expert.
The statement added that they are committed to the revival of Warri as the economic hub of the Niger Delta with participants from the Presidency, Diplomatic Corps, Policy makers, Corporate organization, Traditional rulers and Civil Society Groups.
