“Corrupt” Senator Sighted With Governor Okowa In Ika

The senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Peter Nwaoboshi currently being charge for corruption and other related offences was sighted in Owa-Oyibu, Ika North-East in company of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state.
He was seen at the funeral rite of Queen Efeizomor, wife of the Chairman of Delta State Traditional Rulers Council sitting in same chair with the Governor.
The social event which was attended by former political office holders in the state including former Governor, Chief James Ibori, Emmanuel Uduaghan and other bigwigs of the PDP is the first public appearance of Nwaoboshi.
Nwaoboshi was granted bail on self recognition by the Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday.
The lawmaker is being charged with an alleged fraud of N322m by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission who had on Wednesday arraigned him alongside two firms on two counts bordering on conspiracy and money laundering.
Justice Mohammed Idris who presided over his case had instructed him to get two sureties who will each sign a bail bond of N50m within 72 hours.
The lawmaker was also asked to deposit his passport in the custody of the court pending the conclusion of the case.
The judge stressed that he should not travel out of the country without the court’s permission until the end of the case.
Justice Idris adjourned till June 13 and 20, 2018 for commencement of his trial.
