You Must Go Now After 16 Years In Office, Itsekiri Leaders Tell Sen. James Manager

Itsekiri leaders in Delta state have declared that incumbent Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, Chief James Manager has overstayed at the Senate and it is time for him to go.

Coming under the auspices of apex Itsekiri socio-cultural and political pressure group, Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, ILOT, stated that it is the turn of the Itsekiri ethnic nationality to produce the candidate to represent the Ijaw, Itsekiri and Isoko ethnic nationalities that make up the Delta South Senatorial district at the Red Chamber in Abuja.

They declared that the Itsekiri would take its turn after Senator James Manager, an Ijaw, would have completed four term in office at a stretch.

ILOT made this declaration Sunday in Warri when a former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. J.F.K. Omatsone of Itsekiri extraction paid the body a consultation visit to intimate them of his intention to vie for the position under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, come 2019 and also seek their blessings and support to realize his ambition.

Hon. JFK Omatsone who briefed the house of his moves and visits to key stakeholders in Isoko and Ijaw nations disclosed that haven gone so far in consulting with other neighbouring tribes in the Senatorial district, it was wise and proper to now brief his own people on how far he has gone in pursuing his ambition and gave a brief narratives of some of his key contributions to the Itsekiri nation while he was in office at the Assembly.

He disclosed that so far, from his consultation across the board and considering the various aspirants of Itsekiri extraction in the race, he stands a better chance of clinching the party ticket and pleaded the ILOTsupport, understanding and prayers.

Responding on behalf of ILOT, its Chairman, Barr. Edward O. Ekpoko and Secretary, Sir, Amorighoye A. Mene stated that truly Chief James Manager has overstayed at the Senate and it is time for him to go.

They told the Senatorial aspirant that ILOT is very meticulous and strict in every sense of the word when it come to very crucial matters as this, saying that now that it is the turn of the Itsekiri nation to produce the Senator for the district, they would leave no stone unturned in picking the best candidate from the plethora of aspirants as they come to seek for support and prayers from them.

Barr. Ekpoko assured him that after a thorough, diligent and larger consultation with the relevant stakeholders they will get back to himand prayed for Rt. Hon. JFK Omatsone to realize his ambition as he goes furtherconsulting and politicking.
