Lagos, Rivers, Niger, Ogun First Ladies, Others To Bag Selfless Service International Award In Rivers

The First Ladies of Lagos, Rivers, Niger, Ogun and Plateau States have been nominated among others as recipients of Selfless Service International award.

The award ceremony which is being package to commemorate the 10th Edition of National Children Fest, was introduced in 2008 by Unique Child Club, a division of Selfless Service International, a non-governmental organization based in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Governor Nyesom Ezewon Wike are expected as special guest of honour at the ceremony which would hold on 28th May, 2018, at the Catholic Institute of West Africa (CIWA), Artillery, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, starting from 10.00am.

Organiser of the event and Chief Executive Officer of Selfless Service International, Mr. Osuagwu Gerald Okey Ukwunna, in a statement made available to BigPen Online on Sunday, said that the concept is a celebration of the values of Nigeria children.

According to him, the event will bring together children from various states in Nigeria, to display their intelligence, talents and interact with each other.

“Also it creates an avenue to empower grassroot children and remind parents the importance of a healthy child, how we need to protect the right and freedom of children in order to ensure they grow into happy and healthy adults”.

The event will featured, Free medical checkup, Advisory teaching, Unique princess contest, Kids cultural display, Dancing and Singing competition, Kids Drama, Kids Comedy, Charity project launch (Empower Grassroot Kids), Showers of Blessing from Children, Award Presentation and Reward of the winners.

According to him, personalities whose children programme are in tandem with aspirations of Selfless Service International and have made mark in raising downtrodden children in their educational pursue and healthy living would be recognize and honour during the event.

Those who would be receiving award at the event include, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Wike (first Lady, Rivers State), Mr. Frank Nneji (CEO ABC transport Plc), Mrs. Uloma ROchas Nwosu (CEO Rochas Foundation), Dr. Amina Sam Bello (First Lady Niger State), Mrs. Regina Lalong (first Lady, Plateau State)
Dr. (Mrs) Olutunso Amosun (first Lady, Ogun State)

Others are, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode (first Lady, Lagos State), Mr. & Mrs Paul & Mercy Aja (founder Ave Maria Academy Port Harcourt), Mr. Zaki Ahmed (Commissioner of Police, Rivers State).
