Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has expressed delight that he engaged Setraco Nigeria Limited for the reconstruction work in the Asaba Airport, saying that the fast pace of work at the re-awarded runway project shows the project would come on stream sooner than expected.

Commercial activities will be in full swing at the Asaba International Airport in July, this year when Setraco handling the new phase of the project must have deliver the job, he said.

Governor Okowa who gave this assurance after inspecting the level of work at the project site on Thursday, said that the contractor handling the reconstruction of the runway, Setraco had proven that the project could be delivered within three months.

It took ULO Consultant Limited, who recently pulled out of the project following some irreconcilable differences in the project terms two years to construct 900 metres of the runaway before his administration revoked and re-awarded the contract.
