Boroh Fired, Passport Seized

Special Adviser on Niger Delta and head of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, retired Brigadier-General Paul Boroh has been reportedly fired.
Presidential source revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered Boroh’s sacked and immediate replacement.
His international passport has been allegedly seized, the source added.
The source alleged that his purported sack is hinged on lost of confidence to effectively manage the amnesty programme designed to keep militancy and agitations in the oil rich Niger Delta in check.
Boroh, though still in office and had addressed protesters over the weekend, may leave soon, the source said.
The source added, “A formal announcement would be made anytime from now.”
Meanwhile, Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) President Eric Omare, has dismissed the purported sack, saying it remains a rumour until a formal announcement by the presidency.
“I don’t believe that he has been sack, so I can’t comment for now until it is official, Omare said in a telephone conversation.
