Robert Mugabe Steps Out For The First Time Since “House Arrest”

Embattled President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe has stepped out for the first time since the coup, which placed him under “house arrest”. he graced the Zimbabwe Open University graduation where he was applauded by his supporters as he marched in a procession to the podium and declared the event open. According to reports from Naij.com, the events was heavily secured and the whereabouts of Mugabe’s wife, Grace has continued to fuel speculations.
This appearance according to reports is the army’s way of telling the world that the siege on Harare was not a coup as the aim of the military intervention was the arrest of criminal elements around Mugabe. it will be recalled that yesterday two leaders of Zanu-PF’s Generation 40 (G40) faction; Political Commissar Saviour Kasukuwere and Higher Education Minister Jonathan Moyo have reportedlly been arrested by the Army. According to reports, the two ministers had been at the house of the President and following negotiationsthey were handed over and are reportedly being held at KGVI awaiting their day in court according to the source close to the development.
