Notorious Burglar Who Allegedly Stole Hard Currency From Nwaoboshi’s Mansion Arrested

The notorious crook who allegedly stole hard currency including jewellery, laptops and other valuables worth millions of naira from the mansion of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi in Asaba, Delta state has been nabbed.

BigPen Online learnt that the police in Delta state who arrested the kingpin are also investigating his involvement in series of burglary incidents that took place in residence of high profile personalities in Asaba, Owerri, Makurdi and Enugu metropolis.

State Police Commissioner, Mr. Ibrahim Zanna who confirmed the development in a statement on Monday said the Delta State Police Command, with effective collaboration of the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team on 24 Tuesday, October, 2017 arrested one Emeka Ezeonyi, aged 18yrs old for the alleged crime.

He said that the suspect was apprehended for his involvement in a series of burglaries and stealing cases in the residences of many identified prominent personalities in Asaba, Owerri, Makurdi and Enugu metropolis.

According to the CP, the suspect, who hails from Umuchu village, in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State has confessed that he was responsible for the burglary and stealing of phones, laptops and cash in the Asaba residence of Senator Nwaoboshi and many others which occurred recently in the state.

Mr. Zanna in the statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Andrew Aniamaka, while commending the officers who effected the arrest,however expressed delight that the police have once again through effective deployment of tactical intelligence effected the arrest of a budding notorious criminal.

BigPen Online recalls that the Delta State Police Command had earlier arrested three police officers and a driver attached to the senator in connection with the alleged crime. 

Reports say the crooks had carted away dollars and jewelries belonging to the Senator’s wife worth millions of naira including laptops and other expensive clothes from the mansion  during the operation which lasted an hour . The police and other security personnel on guard at the senator’s house along Olarewanju Close, near Interbua, Asaba, were later found culpable as they were reportedly nowhere to be found during the raid.
