Founder of The God’s Ministry church in Warri, Delta State, Evangelist Samson Mamamu, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to use the proceeds of recovered looted funds to develop all the regions in the country.

Mamamu who made the call at the end of a five-day 41st Annual Spiritual Convention of the church held at Salvation City, Benet Highland, specifically, urged President Buhari to use the recovered loots to build roads and bridges in all the local council areas of the country yearly.

He said these bridges and roads would improve the standard of living off the people adding that it would also bring socio- economic development to the region.

“Nigeria is a very big country with a population of about 170 million people and we wish to humbly suggest to Mr President that two or three major roads and bridges be built in each local government area every year to make the environment look attractive.

“Similarly, we like to also appeal to the relevant authorities in the oil industry to include pipeline communities in job slots and other benefits that accrue to them as this will ameliorate the suffering of the people,” Evangelist Mamamu said

While noting that corruption has eaten deep into the fabric of the nation, Mamamu also advised President Buhari to adopt other methods of fighting corruption if the method he is using is not working.

Mammamu also urged Nigerians to vote leaders who have the people’s interest at heart into leadership positions, just as he asked the citizenry to form the habit of holding their leaders to account.

“If the people of God are corrupt, what do we expect the government to do? So it is the duty of all to select candidates that will not sell constituency projects to enrich themselves at all levels,” Mamamu added.

Speaking on the topic of this year’s convention “The Indispensability of The Holy Spirit,” Evangelist Mamamu in his sermon, lamented that those who were saddled with the practice of using the the holy spirit to help people have turned it into commercial commodity that is sold to the highest bidder.

He therefore urged Christians to keep on practicing the fruitage of the holy spirit, stressing that those who practice it will be comforted by the holy spirit.

A member of the church, Mr Bubaraye Ibani who spoke to our correspondent said Evangelist Mamamu over the years have consistently fought for the people of the Niger Delta region, adding that he is a man of God who can give up his life for the benefit of the people.

“Evangelist Mamamu is a United Nations peace ambassador and because of his zeal to fight for the common man, he has attracted a lot of development to the people of the Niger Delta region. He has always been at the forefront in the Niger Delta struggle. He believes in peace, equity and fairness,” Mr Ibani said.
