Badagry Monarch Urges HOSCON To Ensure FG Synergies With All Oil Producing Communities

The paramount traditional ruler the Akran of Badagry, His Royal Majesty De Wheno, Aholu Menu Toyi 1, has urged the Host Communities of Nigeria (HOSCON) to advocate for greater synergy between oil producing communities, the oil multinational companies and the Federal Government to the benefit of all oil producing communities in the country.

National Director of Media and Publicity, Host Communities of Nigeria (HOSCON), Prince Monday Whiskey, in a statement said that the monarch stated that the synergy is the only way to enhance peace and ensure rapid social economic development of the oil and gas bearing communities of Nigeria.

The first class traditional ruler spoke when he granted audience to the National executive of the Host Communities of Nigeria (HOSCON) at his ancient palace in Badagry.

He said, “I am happy that oil has been discovered in my kingdom and we would be happy if my kingdom is accorded all benefits, rights and privileges that is associated with oil production in Nigeria”.

According to Oba Akran, the Host Communities of Nigeria (HOSCON) has been in the forefront of advocacy for equity, justice and fair play in the oil and gas producing communities of Nigeria and we in Badagry will appreciates if Host Communities of Nigeria (HOSCON) extend such fatherly support to our community as a young oil producing community in Nigeria.

Speaking further, Oba Akran said we in Badagry are pleased with our new status as oil producing community and we are ready to partner any developmental agency and pressure group that has the capacity to teach us the way to go to enable our people benefit maximally from the oil and gas that God has bless this great and ancient kingdom of Badagry with.

Speaking earlier, the National Chairman of the Host Communities of Nigeria (HOSCON) Bishop Dr. Mike Emuh (JP) who led a powerful delegation on the visit said that HOSCON will ensure that it synergized with all critical stakeholders in Lagos and the oil companies operating in Badagry Kingdom to ensure that the rights and the privileges that is accorded oil communities in Nigeria is extended to Badagry oil producing communities.

Bishop Emuh, who expresses joy and delight, assured the paramount ruler of Badagry that the Host Communities of Nigeria (HOSCON) under his watch will do everything to ensure that Badagry Kingdom benefits adequately from its oil production.

Samuel Ebiwanno Host Communities of Nigeria (HOSCON) Ondo State Chapter, Mr. Daniel Temitope Coordinator Host Communities of Nigeria (HOSCON) Lagos Chapter, Capt. Tunde Akangbe Chief Eze Cornelius, Miss Alice Senami Ajibi Members of the Lagos State Host Communities of Nigeria (HOSCON).
