Oborevwori Names Assembly C’ttee Heads; Sacked Speaker, Igbuya Gets Art And Culture, Ibori’s Daughter Erhiatake, Mayuku Get Juicy Positions

The Speaker of Delta state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori on Wednesday, announced the composition of 28 standing committees, with his predecessor, Mr Monday Igbuya emerging as Chairman of Art, Culture and Tourism Committee.
Daughter of former governor, Chief James Ibori, Mrs Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu was named Chairman of Finance and Appropriation Committee while Mr Daniel Mayuku, another protégé of Ibori and Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan also got a juicy portfolio as Chairman House Committee on DESOPADEC.
The composition which was long-awaited was balanced along party lines after a long period of times which it took to constitute the committee.
The Speaker, Oborevwori urged Chairmen and members of the committees to be on their toes to do the needful, reiterating that the committee members were carefully picked.
He also said that members are happy with the composition of the Committees.
“The Committees are well spread, all members are involved. It is my appeal to my honourable members to continue to do their work. Let them hit the ground running now that the Committees have been constituted, he added.
He however assured Deltans that the Chairmen and members of the various committees will do their job saying, “I still want to appeal to the Ministries to give adequate attention to members of the committees, they should be given the necessary support to discharge their responsibilities to the good people of Delta State”.
