Don’t Sweep Ozubulu Killings Under The Carpet, CEPEJ Boss Charges FG, Condemns Attack
The National Coordinator of Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, and Niger Delta human right activist, Comrade Sheriff Mulade on Monday called on the Federal Government and police authorities not to sweep the “Ozubulu killings” that occurred in Anambra State last Sunday under the carpet.
Mulade who condemned the attack in a statement made available to newsmen in Warri, Delta State said that the international community was watching how Nigeria government would handle the dastardly act which caused the death of over 12 persons and many wounded.
While condoling the relations of the victims and those injured as well as commending the Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano for promising to foot the medical bills of those injured, the CEPEJ boss urged the security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators.
He warned that the killings has portrayed the nation in bad light and that the only saving grace to redeem the image of the country is to ensure that the incident is not swept under the carpet.
“I condemned the Ozubulu killings. It is condemnable. Innocent people were killed just because of gang war. The Federal Government and the security agents should get to the route of the matter.
“The nation’s image is at stake with the killings starting from South Africa and snowballed into the country. The international community is watching us. This case must not be swept under the carpet like previous one”, he added.
