Our source disclosed that two Commissioners in the quarters, Women Affairs Commissioner, Mrs. Omatshola Williams, and her Science and Technology counterpart, Mr. Joyce Overah were not in when the suspected robbers stormed their apartment.

It was gathered that the intruders destroyed official vehicles belonging to the two government officials after they had ransacked the apartments.

The armed men, specifically gained access to the apartment of the Commissioner for Science and Technology and carted away an undisclosed amount of money and some valuables, BigPen Online learnt.

“What baffles me most was that on that Saturday I was awake throughout and I never heard any noise, one of the commissioner residing in the lodge who preferred anonymity told our correspondent.

Continuing, he said: “My two colleagues, the Commissioner for Women affairs, Mrs. Omatshola Williams, and the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr. Joyce Overah, were not at home when the robbers came to their apartments to rob them, and who knows what would have happened to them.

“That was how they narrowly escaped death over the weekend, because no one can really tell what was in the minds of the robbers.”

Similarly, our correspondent was told that hoodlums also attempted to rob the old Delta State secretariat complex in Asaba but failed.

It could be recalled that sometime in August 2016, armed robbers invaded the Delta State Government House Annex in Warri and killed a driver who, in company with some staff of the Government House, had gone to the bank to make some withdrawals running into several millions of naira for officials of the Delta State Waterways Security Committee, who were holding a meeting at the Annex.
