JUST IN: Benue Governor, Ortom Announces Defection To PDP

Samuel Ortom, the Governor of Benue state has finally announced his defection from the from All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This is coming on backdrop of disagreement between him and leadership of the party in Benue and at the national level of the APC.

Ortom was bid to meet with the Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee of the party today but was reportedly prevented by
hundreds of youths who barred him from traveling to Abuja to attend the APC reconciliation meeting.

He made the announcement at a meeting with elected local government chairmen and councillors on Wednesday at the Government House Makurdi, brings to an end months of speculation that he wants to return to the PDP.
