The mutilated body of a female student of the Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, who got missing after a birthday bash was found with all her vital organs cut off.

Sources however hinted that suspected “Yahoo Plus” ritualists may have killed her and dumped the body along the Owhelogbo road where she was found dead.

The incident, our source said happened on January 25th, 2018 after she left her hostel to celebrate her birthday with some male acquaintance at a popular bar in Ozoro.

The deceased simply identified as Happiness, was an ND 1 student of the Science and Laboratory Technology (SLT) department.

She was reportedly dating a “Yahoo boy” whom she allegedly went out with on the fateful night for her birthday bash but never returned.

A source from the institution told BigPen Online on Monday that the deceased was declared missing forthright ago after a search for her failed.

The source said that the deceased had left her apartment that fateful day with her mobile phone with a promise that she was returning immediately after the birthday party organised for her at the ‘Rumours’ Bar.’

A source who claimed to be a friend of the deceased roommate told our correspondent on Monday that Happiness when contacted on phone on that night, had assured her roommate that she would soon return but she never did up to the following day.

She was said to have followed the male friends alleged to be ‘Yahoo Boys’ to Oleh, where the Law Campus of the Delta State University, is located after the party but never returned home.

Meanwhile, after a long search, her lifeless body was discovered in an open space close to a secondary school along the Owhelogbo road in Ozoro with one of her breast, eyes, heart and private part removed by her killers.

The incident had led to palpable tension among residents particularly students of the institution.

According to the source, “Happiness had her birthday last two Thursday ago. While leaving the house, she told her roommate who didn’t follow her that somebody was throwing a birthday party for her at ‘Rumours Bar’ and she will return soon. When the roommate didn’t see her at about 7pm, she called to know her whereabouts and she (Happiness) said she was in Oleh and would soon return home.

“Her roommate called repeatedly at about 9pm but her number didn’t connect. It was the same thing the following Friday. It was at this point the roommate raised the alarm that she was missing. Family members and friends have been searching for her until last Friday her mutilated body was found along Owhelogbo road.”

A hostel mate, who also confirmed the incident, said the roommate of the deceased had since been arrested by men of the Delta State Police Command in the area for interrogation.

The deceased corpse has since been deposited in one of the morgues in the area.

The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr. Boniface Ogarayan, could not been reached for comment as at time of filling this report for publication.
