How Delta Police Arrested Two Electric Cable Vandals in Ibabu–Ugiliamai Road

Two suspected electric cables vandals have been arrested by operatives of Kwale Police station of the Delta State Police Command in its sustained efforts to protect critical national infrastructure in the state.
The suspects were apprehended on 25 June 2026, at about 10:30hrs in a combined effort with members of the vigilante group in the area.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe who confirmed this in a statement on Saturday, said that operatives swiftly mobilised to the scene acting on credible intelligence that suspected vandals were dismantling and stealing electric cables along the Ibabu–Ugiliamai Road.


He said that the suspects upon sighting the team, attempted to evade arrest.
“During the ensuing operation, one of the suspects sustained injury and is presently receiving treatment at the hospital, while one of the suspects is in custody.
“The suspects were later identified as Osakwe Sunday (28yrs) and Ekene Obocha (34yrs)”.
The vandalised electric cables has been recovered as exhibits.
The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, warned criminal elements to desist from vandalising government critical infrastructure and other public assets, stressing that the command will not relent in its efforts to identify, arrest, and prosecute offenders.
He also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to the police.
