Ozoro Update: Delta Attorney General Assures Police of Support to Investigate, Prosecute Culprits

The Delta State Attorney-General, Mr Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN, has assured the state police command pf support to ensure smooth investigation and prosecution of those found culpable in the Ozoro assault incident to serve as deterrence to other and ensure justice is served.

The Attorney General stated this when he led a delegation to the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Police Command, CP Aina Adesola, on Monday, in a continuous effort to ensure diligent investigation into the incident.

Delta Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe who disclosed this in a statement, said that the Commissioner of Police, received a delegation from the office of the Attorney-General of the State at the State Headquarters, Asaba.

The Delegation was led by the Attorney-General himself, Mr Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN and also had in attendance members of the Delta State Command management team.

The Attorney General on behalf of the State appreciated the Police leadership for their swift response in ensuring sanity was restored in Ozoro after the ugly incident which sparked a lot of public outcry and gave assurances of the State Government to support the Police and ensure diligent prosecution of those found culpable to serve as deterrence to other and ensure justice is served.

The CP in his response appreciated the AG for the visit and the State Government for their support towards ensuring peace was restored in the affected area of Ozoro and assured the State Government that such incidents will not occur again as he personally visited the area to engage stakeholders and has charged the investigation team to ensure swift prosecution of those found to be directly involved in the ugly act.

The CP has again reassured the general public that the Command remains resolute in ensuring that all those identified to be culprits will be prosecuted in accordance with the law. Members of the public.
