How Operatives of CP-SAT Arrested Suspected Armed Robbers, Gunrunners in Delta

The Delta state Police Command has given details of how operatives of CP – Special Assignment Team ( CP – SAT ) led by ASP Julius Robinson, arrested two suspected armed robbers and gunrunners at various locations in the state.

The operatives, acting on credible intelligence on the activities of cultists around Mosogar and its environs, had on June 11, stormed the residence of 29-year-old Koko Josh, a native of Otor-Iyede Community in Isoko North LGA, Delta State but resident of Adams Street Area, Mosogar, and 27-year-old Asomugha Clinton, a native of Mbaisse Community in Ezinetthe LGA, Imo State.

According to police, during the preliminary investigation, a search warrant was executed on the premises, during which a black bag containing a fabricated Beretta pistol loaded with two (2) rounds of live ammunition, two (2) locally made guns, eight (8) rounds of live cartridges were recovered.

Also recovered are multiple phones, a laptop, and some fetish substances.

State Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe, who confirmed this yesterday, said that further investigation led to the arrest of 26-year-old Anthony Kelvin, a native of Orhoakpor Community in Ethiope East LGA, Delta State.

He disclosed that 25-year-old Gift Amotsuka, a native of Jakpa Community in Warri North LGA, Delta State, and a resident at Adam Street, Mosoghar, was also arrested.

Edafe said that the suspects, who are all suspected to be members of the Aiye confraternity, are currently in custody while the investigation is ongoing.

In a related development, Edafe said, “Operatives of the CP Special Assignment Team at about 1600 hrs. on 13/6/2025 embarked on a sting operation in the Okpanam area of Asaba and effected the arrest of one Ekene Chroma, a 36-year-old native of Issele-Uku in Aniocha North LGA of Delta State”.

They also arrested 18-year-old Okafor Jonathan, a native of Onicha-Ugbo in Aniocha North LGA of Delta State. Both suspects are residents of Okpanam.

“Upon search, two (2) English single barrels and one hundred and ten (110) live cartridges were recovered. Preliminary investigations revealed that they were suspected of being involved in the business of gunrunning. Suspects and exhibits are in custody while the investigation is ongoing.

In his reactions, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, appreciated members of the public who have been assisting the police by way of providing useful information that operatives of the command work with to record these numerous achievements.

The CP stated that it would not have been made possible without the support from members of the Public, and he calls for other well-meaning residents in the state to join the police in this fight to achieve a safer Delta State”.
