Buhari Departs Abuja For London, To Return Before ‘Big Sallah’

President Muhammadu Buhari will proceed to London on Friday for what the Presidency described as a ‘scheduled medical follow-up.’

In a very short statement, the Presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina said Buhari would be back in Nigeria in the second week of July.

This indicates that the Nigerian leader will spend about two weeks in London for medical attention.

PRNigeria reports that the annual Islamic festival of Eid-Kabir, known as big Sallah when rams and cows are slaughter by Muslims will be observed on the third week of July, precisely on July 19-20, 2021.

The Id (or Eid) el Kabir is one of the most important holidays on the Islamic Calendar. …

The festival which is also known as “Eid al Adha,” means “Feast of the Sacrifice,” referring to the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice Ishmael on Mount Moriah, according to Islamic tradition.
