2019: Kano State Is In My Pocket – President Buhari

Published

on

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday made his first strategic trip to Kano state where he will be for a two day visit.

This visit however is seen by many as an indication he is seeking for a second term in office in 2019, being that Kano state is a key state for any presidential aspirant seeking to win presidential elections.

Speaking at the palace of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, Buhari gave little away about whether he planned to seek a second term.

He said, “I know the elections. If they are to be free and fair, if it is a question of numbers, if it is a question of allowing people to make their choice, then I think the people are in my pocket”.

President Buhari seems to have fully recovered after months of treatment had last month also visited three southeastern states where he was decorated with a chieftaincy title.

This move is seen by analysts as a test of how well he fares in preparation for possible months of dogged campaigning ahead.
