A former State Coordinator of Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), for Delta, Edo and Rivers States and chieftain of the APC, Hon. Thomas Joel-Onowakpo, has said that the unfortunate exit of the Delta House of Assembly Majority leader, Hon Tim Owhefere has created a huge vacuum in Isoko political corridor.

In a condolence message to the deceased family on Thursday, Onowakpo said that Owhefere was a thorough bred politician, a first class lawmaker who was brave, courageous and always ready to confront his fears for the good of the society.

The erstwhile executive chairman of the Delta state Board of Internal Revenue, in a statement entitled; “TIM OWHEFERE: Isoko Lost a Great Patriot”, expressed shock over the death of Owhefere whom he described as “my dear brother and friend”.

He wrote; “His death has left me devastated since it broke out. Until his death, Tim was a lawyer, a journalist and an astute politician, who served the people of Isoko North Constituency, Isoko nation and Delta State as a first-class lawmaker and majority leader of the Delta State House of Assembly. He was brave, courageous and always ready to confront his fears for the good of the society.

“Personally, Tim was my bosom friend, our friendship in Lagos predated politics. So, when politics started, we discussed extensively about his ambition to contest House of Assembly election in my Hotel at Maryland, and I gave my little support as a friend.

“As a member of the House of Assembly, Hon. Tim never betrayed my confidence in him. He remained steadfast and true to our friendship”.

While saying that Tim, as he is fondly called was a great Isoko patriot with a heart of gold, Onowakpo noted that his unfortunate exit has dealt a terrible blow on Isoko nation.

He, however, on behalf of his family, condoled with the deceased family, the people of Akiewhe-Owhe community, Isoko North Constituency, Isoko nation and the government of Delta State.
