‘Stop Blackmailing Me Or I Will Expose You And Your Boss’ – Ogba Replies Stalker

Kenneth Edafe Ogba, the member representing Isoko South constituency I in the Delta State House of Assembly, has debunked report making the rounds that he couldn’t spell his name correctly during recent state assembly elections tribunal case.

An online media (Not BIGPEN) had alleged that Ogba goofed during last week plenary on the floor of the House in attempt to correct his name that was wrongly spelt and that he was unable to give correct spelling of his name before the Delta state House of Assembly tribunal judge sitting in Asaba, the state capital.

However, reacting to the report, Ogba, in a statement by his media office on Saturday, said a certain extortionist and blackmailer whose he said was known to him but refused to mention was responsible for the mischief.

He said that the said blackmailer had been stalking him since the election campaign days and was only out to smear his reputation with the concocted story which he denied in its entirety.

The statement read: “Ordinarily, we would have ignored the lies contained in the said publication against our principal, but our reaction is based on the fact that the more often we hear a lie, the more likely we are to believe it is true regardless of the underlying facts and it was Tom Stafford, a professor of psychology and cognitive science at the University of Sheffield, who wrote that the “illusion of truth” is created from frequently hearing a lie repeated.

“The reason behind this known Isoko indigene “prime blackmailer”, orchestrating all these false stories against our principal is because, sometimes last year, this young man approached our principal for some financial assistance to prepare for his marriage, but unfortunately, the assistance could not come due to some unforeseen circumstances and as a result, as soon our principal was swore-in as a member of the Delta state house of Assembly, this blackmailer began sponsoring all kind of false, blackmailing and unfounded stories against our principal in a bid to bring our principal to his kneels so as to continuously be extorting money from him.

“Our investigations through reliably sources revealed that the blackmailer who was nowhere near the court on the 15th of June, 2019 when the purported name misspelt issue came up, has boasted to some persons to bring down the member representing Isoko South constituency 1 in the person of Hon. Kenneth Edafe Ogba, unless he does what he called “PRO”.

“We will want to emphasize clearly that the tribunal judge is not an Isoko or Urhobo that are conversant with our native names. Our principal, Hon. Kenneth Edafe Ogba was only asked to spell his name for proper documentation when he was asked to introduce himself to the court, having mounted the witness box, which he did perfectly well.

“It would be recalled that last week, this same newly recruited Isoko “blackmailer” through his friend’s online blackmailing machine, concocted a story that our principal during a legislative seminar at Enugu, paid for all the drinks and foods consumed by all his colleagues, when it is a known fact that such consumptions are footed by the state government since the seminar was a government event as such there is no way our principal would have footed such bills.

“Let it be known that our principal does not succumb to blackmail as everything published against him by and in that online newspaper are all fallacies and only existed in the imagination of the blackmailer and his co-travellers who are bent at tarnishing his good image. We are by this statement enjoining the good people of Isoko South constituency 1 and Deltans in general to disregard any form of lies targeted at tarnishing the image of Hon. Kenneth Edafe Ogba”.

The statement warned the sponsors of the mischievous stories to desist from such act and turn a good leaf, stressing that should he remain adamant to the advise, “We shall be left with no option than to expose him and pick on his boss as well, since no one is a monopoly of blackmail”.
