Regina Daniels: Ned Nwoko Threatens Legal Action as Fake Death Reports Spark Outrage

Senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to members of the public, particularly fans, friends and social media users, to give his estranged wife and Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, space to recover, warning that those spreading false information about her could face legal consequences.
Nwoko made the appeal in a statement shared on his Instagram page, expressing concern over the circulation of fabricated death announcements, misleading reports and hurtful social media posts concerning the actress.
He said the situation was particularly troubling because Daniels needed love, support and privacy rather than public criticism and speculation about her health and personal life.
“I want to make a sincere appeal to the public, particularly Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators, to please give Regina some breathing space,” he said.
The lawmaker noted that Daniels had been through difficult experiences and deserved the opportunity to heal without additional pressure from social media.
“Regina has been through a lot, more than many people may realise, and right now, what she needs most is love, support and the opportunity to recover,” he added.
Nwoko also referred to a video Daniels shared on her birthday, saying it provided an insight into some of the health challenges she had been facing.
He urged the public not to use her circumstances as an opportunity to judge, criticise or vilify her.
According to him, Daniels’ well-being had always been important to him, adding that concerns about her welfare contributed to his decision to make certain aspects of their private situation public.
He expressed particular displeasure over false reports announcing the actress’s death and other misleading claims about her health and personal circumstances.
“These things are not harmless social media engagement. Regina sees many of these posts, and they are deeply distressing. They do nothing to support her recovery, rather, they add to the burden she is already carrying,” he stated.
The senator urged her supporters to discourage the circulation of fabricated reports instead of sharing or amplifying them.
He further warned bloggers, content creators and social media commentators against deliberately publishing false information about Daniels, particularly claims relating to her death, health and private life.
Nwoko disclosed that publications considered defamatory or deliberately misleading were being documented, warning that those responsible would be pursued through the appropriate legal channels.
“We are documenting these publications, and anyone found responsible will be held accountable through the appropriate legal channels,” he warned.
He added that Daniels deserved the opportunity to recover in peace without being subjected to false reports, public hostility and renewed scrutiny.
