Leaders of Owhe Clan Endorse Tinubu, Oborevwori, Joel-Onowakpo, Ukodhiko Pass Confidence Vote on Ogorugba, Others

Leaders of the Owhe Clan in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State over the weekend unanimously endorsed the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, the member representing Isoko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko for the 2027 general elections.

The leaders also unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, Godwin Ogorugba, and other political leaders in recognition of their outstanding performance in office.

The resolution was reached during a meeting of prominent leaders of the clan held at the country home of the council chairman, Godwin Ogorugba in Otor-Igho.

Participants commended the developmental strides of the various elected officials at the federal, state and local government levels.

The leaders specifically praised President Tinubu for signing into law the bill establishing the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Oleh, describing the institution as a major milestone in improving healthcare delivery across Delta South.

They also commended Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas for sponsoring the bill that culminated in the establishment of the medical centre.

Governor Oborevwori was applauded for appointing Prof. Samuel Aghalino as the Vice-Chancellor of Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba, and for approving the resurfacing of the Otor-Owhe Township Road, as well as the construction of internal roads in Otibio, noting that the projects would improve transportation, stimulate economic activities and enhance the quality of life of residents.

The leaders meeting passionately commended and thanked the Isoko North council chairman, Ogorugba for executing several infrastructural projects across Isoko North Local Government Area.

The vote of confidence motion was moved by the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor, Daniel Tutumor, seconded by Lawson Efenudu, and subsequently put to a voice vote by the chairman of Delta Mortgage Trust Bank and immediate past member representing Isoko North Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Jude Omena Ogbimi and unanimously approved by the leaders.

The leaders resolved to mobilise massive grassroots support for the re-election of President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, Ukodhiko and the election of Orobosa Ashakah in the forthcoming general elections, expressing confidence that continuity in leadership would accelerate development in Delta State and the Isoko Nation.

Among leaders that attended the meeting were, former Secretary to the Delta State Government, Ovuozourie Macaulay; the Bishop of Oleh Diocese, Anglican Communion, John Aruakpor; Executive Assistant to the Governor, John Araka; President-General of Otor-Owhe Community, Wilfred Atunu; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Richard Isagba; APC chieftains, Peter Odhunwa, Herman Efenudu, Festus Akponovo, Robert Ighosevwe, Peter Oniabre, Eddy Okumor, Elvis Ovie, Joshua Ovie Oghoole, Ernest Oromena.

Others were the President-General of Owhelogbo Community, Morrison Iluesure; Executive Assistant to the Governor, Albert Arah; President-General of Aziaro Community, Goodluck Obiaro; Robert Oziwele; Christopher Ogoh; President-General of Eniagbedhi Community, David Ujorode; President-General of Otie-Owhe Community, Atoma; former Leader of the Isoko North Legislative Arm, Felix Ogona; Oghogho Ikrumale; Isaiah Omoyibo; Sunday Ejoke; and other political, community and religious leaders from across the clan.
