Warri – based Media Consultant, Ebule Anthony Metsese, says he’s not fazed by people’s perception of his personality and professional practice.

Ebule, who is the Editor-In-Chief of Fresh Angle International, said opinions of readers and audience, often changes, depending on the media contents and subject matter at every point in time.

The journalist of over two decades, who spoke on the backdrop of his 52nd birth anniversary, Monday June 1, said many readers find it hard to draw a thin line between opinionation and Interpretative Journalism.

He stated: “There’s hardly any media company or media practitioner around the world that is not accused of bias at some point in time. But as a professional Mass Communicator, I’m guided by the ethical principles of fairness, justice, social responsibility and truth. This principles, vary in application, when reporting different issues.

“Issues of geographical location of the media, agenda setting function and the need to de – escalate potentially explosive narratives, also guide reportage. These principles, don’t go down well with certain readers at different times, thus influencing their perception of media practitioners.

“I also tell people around me, especially those I mentor, that I don’t look for friendship, I just try to do whatever I consider right, both in my private life and professional practice. This is because I understand that only a fool, is loved by everybody.
