President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep concern and sympathy over the recent terror attacks in Maiduguri, Borno State.

In a statement issued on Monday, the President mourned those who lost their lives, extended sympathies to the injured, and assured the people of Borno that the federal government remains fully committed to combating terrorism.

President Tinubu described the attacks as a “desperate and frantic attempt” by criminal and terrorist elements to spread fear and chaos in the region.

He emphasized that these acts are ongoing efforts by terrorists under increasing pressure from Nigeria’s armed forces and security agencies operating across various theatres.

The President praised the bravery and resilience of Nigerian troops who successfully repelled the coordinated assaults on military positions in Maiduguri. He reassured the nation that the military and civilian task forces are determined to bring the terrorists to justice and restore peace.

In a move to bolster security response, President Tinubu announced that he has approved additional equipment and operational support for security agencies following a recent security meeting with top security and intelligence officials.

He also directed security chiefs to move into Maiduguri to take charge of the situation and oversee ongoing operations.

Furthermore, the President ordered emergency agencies to provide proper medical care and support for the injured victims. “There is no place in Nigeria where terrorists will find safety,” he declared. “We will locate them, confront them, and completely defeat them.”

Reaffirming his resolve, President Tinubu stated that Nigeria will not succumb to fear and that the government remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
