PTI Flyover Bridge

Excitement is growing across Warri and Effurun as Julius Berger Nigeria Plc completes ongoing Flyovers of the Warri Roads and Flyovers project. Two of the three major bridges, Enerhen and DSC, have now reached 99% completion, with only final road markings outstanding, while the PTI Flyover is at roughly 95% completion.

The Project Technical Manager, Ghadi Mansour, confirmed the latest status on Wednesday, noting that structural works on the Enerhen and DSC flyovers have been fully completed. According to him, the PTI flyover is also approaching its final stages, with only a few structural components and finishing works remaining.

According to Mansour, Wednesday, only road markings on DSC and Enerhen Flyovers are remaining. He said, on the percentage of the Flyovers completed so far, we have completed 99% on both DSC and Enerhen Flyovers with only road markings remaining there. As for PTI, the Flyover is 95% completed with some parts and road markings remaining.

Despite the significant progress, Mansour revealed that construction activities are still underway on sections of the connecting roads and underpasses. However, he emphasised that all three flyovers remain on course for full completion by the end of March.

The Warri/Effurun Roads and Flyovers project is one of Delta State’s most ambitious and transformative urban infrastructure efforts. Approved in September 2023, the initiative was awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria PLC with the mandate to ease gridlock, modernize major traffic corridors, and enhance mobility across the Effurun–Warri axis.

The project includes three new flyovers at DSC Roundabout, PTI Junction, and Enerhen Junction stretching to Marine Gate, along with extensive road expansions, slipways, pedestrian access improvements, and stormwater drainage upgrades designed to address long‑standing traffic and flooding challenges.

By late 2024, construction across all three flyovers had already crossed the 80–95% mark, driven by an accelerated work pace and strong cooperation from host communities.

Across Warri and Effurun, the nearing completion of the flyovers has generated widespread optimism. Motorists, traders, and business owners report improved traffic flow in areas where work has progressed significantly. Many say the project is already reshaping commercial activity and easing movement, even before its final handover.

Local analysts note that the infrastructure upgrade is expected to become a major catalyst for economic growth, improving logistics, reducing travel time, and boosting investor confidence in the region.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration continues to receive praise for advancing large‑scale infrastructure projects aimed at modernizing the state’s transport network. The nearing completion of the WRF project is viewed as one of the standout achievements of the administration’s broader development agenda.

With the Enerhen and DSC flyovers now essentially complete and the PTI structure entering its final phase, the twin cities of Warri and Effurun are poised for smoother traffic flow and expanded economic opportunity when the entire project is delivered.
