Isoko North Restrains Movement of Motorcycles From 10:00pm to 6:00am Between Dec 22nd to Jan 2, 2026

Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Godwin Ogorugba Monday approved a temporary ban on the movement of motorcycles otherwise known as ‘Okada’ between the hours of 10:00pm to 6:00am, effective from today, 22nd December 2025 to 2nd January 2026.

The chairman also dissolved all revenue agents and consultants operating within the local government with effect from 31st December 2025.

The decisions were reached at the council’s 2025 last Executive Council meeting presided over by the Chairman of Isoko North, Godwin Ogorugba, held at the Council Exco Chambers, Ozoro.

Briefing journalists shortly after the meeting, the Supervisory councillor for Community Development and Agriculture, Thomas Akpoedafe, alongside his Works and Environment counterparts, Egwu Oghenero Alakpodia and Alebe Joshua Onos, disclosed that the council also resolved to disengage all revenue agents and consultants operating within the local government with effect from 31st December 2025.

Also the tenure of the local government revenue committee headed by the supervisory councillor for Agriculture and Community was howver extended by six months.

According to the decisions of the executive council meeting, no individual or group is permitted to continue revenue collection beyond the 31st December 2025 as their engagements would have officially expired, stressing that those who wished to further partner with the council can apply for subsequent engagements.

Furthermore, the Executive Council reiterated its earlier directive requiring landlords within Isoko North to properly profile their tenants by obtaining valid means of identification, including National Identification Numbers (NIN) and passport photographs.

The Council also issued a stern warning to owners of uncompleted buildings to immediately evacuate any squatters occupying such structures, noting that failure to comply would attract sanctions, as property owners would be held liable for harbouring of criminal elements.

The Council while also passing a vote of confidence on the council chairman, Godwin Ogorugba, in recognition of his notable developmental strides across the local government, congratulated the people of Isoko North for a productive and eventful year 2025.
