Dr. Michael Nwoko, Chief of Staff to Senator Ned Nwoko, has said that unity and cohesion formed the fulcrum of APC success ahead of 2027.

Dr Nwoko spoke barely few weeks after the high-powered Delta state All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders meeting held at Government House, Asaba.

In a statement on Tuesday, Dr. Nwoko described the event as a “turning point” in Delta politics and a clear signal that only collaboration would strengthen the APC

He provided insight into Senator Ned Nwoko’s strategic role in the meeting and the broader implications of the gathering, saying that the federal lawmaker “delivered a poignant message on synergy and teamwork”

“Senator Nwoko used the platform to reaffirm his total support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s second-term comeback, with the mindset that both leaders symbolized key drivers of development and stability.

“Senator Ned Nwoko was very clear in his message. He called on all leaders across Delta North and the entire state to embrace unity and sincerity of purpose. Let unity begin from wards, LGAs, and zones. His words were not mere political rhetoric, they were a call to action rooted in the need for transformative leadership.

“The Senator called for reconciliation among key leaders, particularly in Delta North. He emphasized that peace and collaboration would deepen the momentum of victory among APC stakeholders in the next circle of elections.

The stakeholders’ meeting was seen as an important step in solidifying the APC’s dominance in the State following series of landmark defections from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

It would be recalled that the political atmosphere in Delta dramatically shifted with the defection of Senator Nwoko in January, Governor Oborevwori in April, and other high-profile figures such as former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. For the first time since 1999, all three senators representing Delta State are APC members.

Reflecting on this, Dr. Nwoko stated: “It is a new dawn in Delta State. The beginning of a new chapter. More importantly, the meeting reminded us that team spirit is not a slogan, it is a strategic necessity. What we need now is to guard this momentum with sincerity, discipline, and collective resolve. Senator Nwoko believes that defection must not be cosmetic. It must be transformative.

Dr. Michael Nwoko further emphasized that unity across ethnic lines including Anioma, Urhobo, Itsekiri, Isoko and Ijaw, would engender the right atmosphere in delivering not only electoral victory but also long-awaited development goals such as the renewed quest for the creation of Anioma State championed by Senator Ned Nwoko.

“Senator Nwoko is leading by example. “Through projects in road construction, dam construction and rehabilitation, solar electrification, mini sports stadium, solar borehole, health care initiatives, empowerment programs for youths, women and farmers, he is showing what sincerity of purpose portrays in action. This is what the APC must replicate across all senatorial zones.

“As Delta State positions itself as political pacesetter in the South-South, Senator Ned Nwoko will remain at the forefront of efforts to foster unity, equity, and prosperity for all” Dr Nwoko said
