Tragedy Hits Nigerian Gospel Music Industry As Four Artists From Same Family Die in Car Accident

Four Nigerian gospel artists from the same family, Evangelist Ayodeji Kekerejesu, Evangelist Iyanu Joseph, Monjolajesu Oluwapamilerin, and Opeyemi Adesina, died in a fatal car accident along the Ikorodu/Sagamu road in Ogun State.
The accident occurred when a vehicle crashed into two colliding vehicles, instantly killing the gospel singers.
Confirming the incident, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Commander and Public Information Officer, Florence Okupe, in a statement on Sunday, April 5, explained that the accident occurred after a vehicle crashed into two vehicles that collided.
She mentioned that the gospel singers who were from the same family, were in one of the two vehicles that collided and they died instantly on the spot.
She expressed condolences to the families of the bereaved, urging drivers to avoid overspeeding.
The Nigerian gospel music industry is in mourning, with many lamenting the loss of talented artists cut short in their prime.
Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated incident. Other Nigerian musicians have died in accidents or due to various health issues, leaving fans and the music industry in shock.
Notably, Dagrin died in a car accident in 2010 at age 25, MC Loph, was Killed in a car accident in 2011 while another gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu passed away in 2022 after alleged marital abuse.
