Ambassadorial Appointment: ‘No List Has Been Transmitted To NASS’ – FG Reacts

The federal government on Monday dismissed reports circulating in some national dailies regarding an alleged ambassadorial nominees list.

In a brief statement to diplomatic correspondents, Acting Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, clarified that President Bola Tinubu will transmit the official list to the National Assembly once it is finalized.

“Kindly disregard the frenzy about the Ambassadorial list. Be rest assured that, when it is ready, Mr. President will transmit the list of nominees to the National Assembly for screening and confirmation,” Ebienfa stated.

Over the weekend, several newspapers (excluding The Nation) claimed that some nominees were already undergoing security screening and listed names of certain politicians allegedly included in the list.
