“He’s Our Hero”- Anioma’s Advocacy Group Passes Vote Of Confidence On Sen. Ned Nwoko

A group under the aegis of Movement for the Emancipation of Anioma Nation (MEAN) has described Senator Ned Nwoko as hero of Anioma nation, declaring “An attack on Ned is an attack on MEAN.”.

The group made the declaration during an enlarged meeting held in Agbor, headquarters of Ika South local government area of Delta state where they unanimously passed vote of confidence on the senator for his quality representation at the red chamber.

The motion for the confidence vote was moved by Hon. Mike Monye, general secretary and seconded by Apostle Ayo Ashiedu, a development which was unanimously endorsed by all Anioma people who attended the rally in Agbor.

The rally which was attended by all the nine local government coordinators pulled a crowd of people from across the Delta North senatorial district to Alihama townhall in Agbor metropolis.

Speaking at the rally, president of MEAN, Apostle Ayo Ashiedu said “our mission as a formidable organization is to advocate for better life for our Anioma people.

“And for that to be possible in this present Nigeria, we have seen Senator Ned Nwoko to be the one chosen to make it happen. His moves at the Senate attest to that.

“We have seen the light in him. We have seen his desire for the growth and development of Anioma land. Hence, we have decided to stand by him.

“We hold Senator Nwoko in very high esteem because of his good representation. Ned Nwoko is our hero. An attack on Ned is an attack on MEAN.”

On the creation of Anioma state, Ashiedu said: “We have been agitating for the creation of Anioma state. We are in support of Distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko in his agitation for the creation of Anioma state.

“MEAN is established to be a voice for the Anioma, advocating for human and capital development of the region.

“Delta North is marginalized in terms of infrastructure in this despensation, hence the need to speak out and call for equity among the three senatorial districts of Delta state.”

He said the rally was organized to sensitise Anioma people on the need to support Senator Ned Nwoko and add their voice for the creation of Anioma state.

All the coordinators of MEAN from the nine local governments spoke and pledged their total support for Nwoko’s political aspirations for Delta North.

They vowed to go back to their respective local government areas and begin to mobilize support for Senator Ned Nwoko.

All participants eulogised Senator Nwoko and prayed that God will continue to protect and guide him from all evil. The event was a display of the Anioma cultural attire and music.

The founder and national president of MEAN, Apostle Ayo Ashiedu, thanked all participants for attendance from far and near to grace the occasion and expressed their support for Ned in his struggle for the good of Anioma people .
