The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Hon. Elder Godwin Ogorugba, has urged residents in riverine communities and flood-prone areas to relocate to higher ground due to rising flood levels.

Ogorugba made the appeal on Monday, advising residents to gather their farm products and move their families to safer areas, promising to inform them if relocation to government IDP camps becomes necessary.

He, however joined the people to pray to God Almighty for the looming flood to rescind, saying, “with God all things are possible”.

In a separate development, Ogorugba launched “Operation Keep Isoko North Clean,” a sanitation initiative aimed at maintaining a healthy environment.

He emphasized the need for community leaders and residents to work together to keep the area clean, condemning indiscriminate refuse disposal that causes sicknesses and flooding.

Speaking through the Supervisory councillor for Environment, Joshua Alebe while carrying out special sanitation exercise over the weekend at, Ozoro, the council chairman emphasized the need to actualize clean and healthy environment for Isoko North people.
