Rivers Political Crisis: Wike’s Plot Against Fubara, A Political Miscalculation – Eze

Published

on

Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze says the ongoing conflict between the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Sim Fubara and his predecessor, Chief Nyesom Wike – the FCT Minister is a divine orchestration in response to the wailing of the people of the state over the tormenting highhandedness and annexation of the state and her resources by ex Governor Wike as part of his private enterprises.

The APC chieftain said Gov. Fubara has done well for promptly adhering to the counsel of responsible leaders and stakeholders in the state to strive to severe the state from the dominance of a discontented power-monger – Nyesom Wike, whose gory antecedent as Governor was a direct opposite of the developmental penchant of his predecessor, Chief Rotimi Amaechi.

In a statement made available to the media, Chief Eze described the Wike eight-year reign as the worst period in the annals of Rivers State; a time when the administration of the State was ran without any clearcut fiscal policy framework, but at the whims of an unsympathetic and merciless emperor whose strategy of leadership is by installing fears and intimidation in the mind of the people as a strategy to evade their wrath for his non-performance.

According to Eze, the Wike era was a watershed and will continue to be of unblessed memory; a period in which all manners of anti-people, undemocratic strategies were deployed to ensure that other political parties are denied their constitutionally guaranteed right to campaign; a period when opposition political leaders were either maimed or their business activities crippled.
That is the legacy of the Wike administration and no state can grow with such obnoxious exploration of our laws for personal aggrandizement.

Continuing, Eze said the Wike period has gone down in history as a period when the government of the state could not attract one single foreign investment. That failure was prompted by the spiteful refusal of the administration to imbibe the laudable policies and programs initiated by the past administration of Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi.

He accused the Wike administration of importing a strange system of governance unknown to any civilized State where billions of the common patrimony of the people were handled and determined by a single individual without a sound State Assembly who reduced Pensioners to a life of misery with non-payment of their pensions. Even Civil Servants were not paid their salaries.

“If not that we live in a country where institutions like EFCC doesn’t work, what gut will Wike have to state in the public glare that no elected public office holder from Rivers State bought forms to participate in the 2023 general elections; that he singlehandedly bought all the forms in which they used to participate in the 2023 general elections. That was a strategy to select only those he felt were loyal not to Rivers people but to him, to occupy public offices. We have seen it play out with the recent visit of National Assembly members to Wike to pledge their loyalty and affirm their solidarity with him over the political crisis in Rivers State. They pledged their solidarity with Wike against the interest of the people even when the demands of the former Governor is clearly runs contrary to the interest of Rivers people. That is not democracy and people must speak up.

Eze said all the listed anomalies and many more are what God saw and orchestrated the conflict between Wike and his political son in order to free the State from the evil hold and therefore those who are attempting to support Nyesom Wike against Fubara are indirectly attempting to confront God and if they don’t retrace their steps, they may live to regret their actions.

The APC Chief also warned Gov. Fubara never to entertain the thought of retreating as such act of cowardice will mean detaching from God and the people and aligning with Wike to further frustrate the masses. Eze Counsels Fubara to find time to watch the film titled, “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly an Italian film directed by Sergio Leone and starring Clint Eastwood as “the Good”, Lee Van Cleef as “the Bad”, and Eli Wallach as “the Ugly” to understand that Wike and his groups are not people you engage in any form of dialogue unless you want to end like Clint Eastwood the Good in that epoch-making film.
