EFCC Presents First Witness In Alleged $156,711 Fraud Case, Files Paperwork Against Macmillan Publishers’ Co-defendant In Lagos

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has called PW1 Ahmed Suleiman, an EFCC investigative officer, as its first prosecution witness in the case of one Fasasi Bola, who is being sued alongside Macmillan Nigeria Publishers Limited for an alleged fraud of $156,711.87.
The PW1 was presented on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos.
The suspects were charged with six new counts of obtaining goods under false pretence when they were arraigned on June 20, 2022.
One of the amended counts reads: “Macmillan Nigeria Publishers, Prof. Adesanya Iyiola Adelekan (now at large) and Fasasi Bola, sometime in 2018, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, conspired amongst yourselves to obtain goods by false pretence, property of BHS book Printing SDN BHD of Selangor Malaysia.”
