SUV Rams Into Newsstand In Delta, Kills 3 ‘Free Readers’, Injures 1

A sport utility vehicle (SUV) reportedly rammed into a newspaper stand at Iyara roundabout in Warri, Delta state, claiming three lives with the driver badly injured.

www.bigpenngr.com reports that the vehicle was trying to negotiate the roundabout at top speed when the driver lost control and crash into the newsstand.

 

The victims were at the newspaper stand to read the dailies when the white colour Range Rover jeep marked with vehicle registration number Delta EFR 940.suddenly crashed on them over the weekend.

Three of the victims fondly referred to as ‘free readers’ were crashed by the jeep and died instantly.

One was severely injured in the process and still being hospitalized.

 

Witnesses said the driver of the car was trying to negotiate a bend at the roundabout at top speed when he lost control of the car and crashed it on the news stand.

While the driver of the car was badly hurt, two female acquaintances inside the car came out unhurt.

Local sources disclosed that the driver and other victims were reportedly rushed to undisclosed hospital afterward some policemen came to the scene to take inventory.

State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, when contacted said the information available to him shows that one persons died in the incident.
