APC Leader In Canada, Korka-Waadah Hails Successful Rivers’ Congress Won By Amaechi’s Ally

Joe Korka-Waadah, a leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Canada, has commended the successful state congress of the APC in Rivers State after six years of unabated crisis.

BIGPENNGR reports that Mr. Emeka Beke, an ally of the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, emerged as the new party chairman in the state.

Beke polled an overwhelming 1,575 votes out of 1,615 accredited delegates to beat Chizy Nyeomasila who scored eight votes and Japhet Ogbueri who got zero vote to emerged winner, according to the result announced by the Chairman, Rivers APC Congress Screening Committee, Dr. Abubakar Idris, who was delegated from the National Secretariat of the party.

Commenting on the outcome of the Congress, in a statement on Sunday, Joe Korka-Waadah, who doubles as the President, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi MOVE UP Campaign 2023 Canada/USA, said that the results of the Saturday’s congress of the APC in Rivers State is a reassuring first step to repositioning the party in the state.

According to him, “For putting aside all differences to achieve this very important milestone, I say warm congratulations to the leadership of our great party.

He said that rather than bask in the euphoria of the successful Congress, it was time the leaders come together to forge a united front for the party ahead the next general election.

“I hasten to add that while we bask in the euphoria of this achievement, it is also the right time to move swiftly on to engage our dear people of Rivers State to join hands with us in rebuilding our state”.

While saying the last challenging years were a lesson in the value of cohesion for the party, Korka-Waadah, urged leaders of the party to build on unity by reconnecting with the people.

“We need to reassure them that the APC is the only party that would bring development to their footsteps”, he added.

Continuing, he said, “The task ahead may not be easy, but with unity of purpose, disadvantaged young men and women from struggling Rivers State families would have the chance again to study on scholarship in the best universities.

“It would be time to redirect focus on human capital development by investing in sustainable projects that guarantee the future for our people socially and economically.

“Once again, congratulations to APC leadership in Rivers State and felicitation with our national leaders”, Korka-Waadah added.
