BIGPEN reports that Melojeuekun Barakat, reportedly made U-turn on the case following pressured on her and her family.

Police sources said that the girl, her father and other family of the victim have been put under pressure to withdraw the case which came to light when the minor was put on video over the allegation which led to police invitation of Abiodun Abudu-Balagun and his subsequent suspension from office by the state government.

Her father, Adesola majowa is said to be singing a different tune about the matter and pleading it should be laid to rest.

The development comes few days after the Ogun State Government announced the suspension of Abudu-Balogun to enable him cooperate fully with the investigation being carried out by the police.

In a short video of her which is currently being circulated, Melojeuekun Barakat agreed that there was “misconception and misunderstanding” between her and the commissioner but the matter should be rested.

Melojeuekun Barakat, however thanked Nigerians for standing by her all through the matter but in a dramatic twist, she appealed that the case be allowed to rest.

In his reaction, Adesola Mayowa, the teenage girl’s father said he had discovered that, “There were a few misconception and misunderstanding along the line between my daughter and the Commissioner.

“Having discovered this, I deem it fit to inform the public and the international community that this matter should be laid to rest.

“As the father to Melojuekun Barakat, I want to appeal to the public, the international community and the media that I don’t have interest in this matter again.

“I am withdrawing my case and I want them to support me the same way they did in the beginning of this matter,” the father pleaded.

Neither the daughter nor her father apologized to the Commissioner in their latest videos.
