BREAKING: INEC Postpones 15 Bye-elections In 11 States

Following the security situation and the turmoil resulting from #EndSARS protest nationwide, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Thursday, announced the postponement of all the bye-elections in 11 states.

INEC’s spokesman, in a statement, Festus Okoye, said the 15 bye-elections have been put on hold as a result of the current security situation.

The elections, for six senatorial districts and nine state constituencies, were scheduled to hold on October 31.

BIGPEN recalls Nigerians protesting police brutality, extortion and bad governance had grounded the country in a nationwide protest that have turned violence, leaving in its trail deaths, injuries and destruction of public and private assets.
