BREAKING! Gunmen Reportedly Kidnap Zenith Bank Manager In Warri
Unknown gunmen on Monday reportedly abducted a zonal manager of Zenith bank in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
BIGPEN understands that the gun-wielding hoodlums allegedly forced the banker whose identity is still shrouded in secrecy out of his car as he was about entering the premises of the bank for the day’s work.
Eyewitness report that the victim was on his way to his office located opposite the Urhobo College at Effurun when his assailants waylaid his vehicle and abducted him.
Multiple sources who confirmed witnessing the incident, said that the gunmen release several volumes of gun shots into the air as they dragged their victim from his car to a waiting vehicle and zoomed off while shooting sporadically to wage off intruders.
“There was heavy panic today (Monday) in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State as gunmen in the early hours of the day abducted a Zenith bank manager near Urhobo College in Effurun.
“He was about driving into the bank premises when the gunmen who may have probably trailed him to the scene block his car while shooting sporadically at the scene and abducted him to an unknown destination”, one source said.
As of the time this report was filled for publication on Monday evening, it was not clear if his captors have made contact with the abducted banker’s family.
Meanwhile, the Delta State Police Command has confirmed the abduction, but gave no details of the victim.
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hafiz Inuwa and Onome Onovwakpoyeya, the PPRO, while reacting separately to the incident assured that the command’s operatives were on the trail of the hoodlums to rescue the victim unhurt.
