Governor Nyesom Wike, has warned Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against further delaying announcement of the final result of the governorship poll held in Edo State on Saturday, September 19, 2020

Wike spoke at news conference in Benin on Sunday.

The Rivers State Governor expressed shock that INEC was yet to declare the final result despite his words of commendation for the way the electoral body had conducted itself on the election day.

He said that the electoral body is foot dragging to conclude its job.

Wike said that it would not be a good thing for INEC if it starts its assignment well and ends it shoddily. He charged INEC to straighten all loose ends and call to order its staff, the administrative secretary who seem to be the clog in the wheel of progress.

Also speaking, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde charged the INEC not to shirk in its responsibilities as the PDP would not want the commission’s actions to lead to any form of confusion.
