Deadly COVID-19 Virus Zooms Past 20,000 In Nigeria

Coronavirus figures released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control shows the virus has risen sharply above 20,000 with 436 new confirmed cases added on Sunday.

The country, also recorded 12 deaths resulting from the deadly virus nationwide.

According to the figures, so far, Nigeria has 20,244 cases confirmed, 6,879 recoveries and 518 deaths recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The agency said that the 436 new cases were reported from 19 states.

The breakdown shows – Lagos (169), Oyo (52), Plateau (31), Imo (29), Kaduna (28), Ogun (23), FCT (18), Enugu (18), Bauchi (17), Bayelsa (14), Rivers (8), Osun (6), Kano (6), Edo(5), Benue (5), Adamawa (3), Borno (2), Abia (1), Ekiti (1).
