UPDATED: Obaseki: I’ve Joined PDP To Advance My Ambition To Seek Reelection

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, has officially joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and ready to battle for the governorship ticket of the party, following his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC), a party in which he contested for his first term of office.
This followed his disqualification by the APC’s governorship screening committee from participating in its primary over purported discrepancy in his academic qualification.
BIGPEN reports Obaseki who had since joined the PDP in his ward after horse-trading with top echelon of the party, was at the PDP secretariat in Benin-City to pick up his membership card in preparation for the governorship primary of the party on Friday.
This medium had earlier reported that apparently considering the entering of Governor Godwin Obaseki who newly joined its fold, though yet to officially announced it, (as of Thursday), the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have shifted the party governorship primary in Edo to June 23.
Confirming his membership of the PDP, Governor Obaseki, Friday afternoon, announced via his verified twitter handle that he has officially joined the party to advance his ambition for reelection.
